Ye Vagabonds (IRL)

The core of the band are the Mac Gloinn brothers—Brían and Diarmuid—who began their musical journey together as buskers and have since grown into a robust collective: a sonically unique ensemble featuring layered acoustic and electric guitars, trumpet, double bass, Moog synthesizer, harmonium, bouzouki, fiddle, and the distinctive blood harmony of the brothers’ versatile voices. They are the heart of the band. Diarmuid describes their music as “rooted in the Ulster singing tradition, with harmonies that draw from American traditional music.” Having grown up speaking Irish Gaelic at home, they have also released several songs in that language.

They have been described as being “at the forefront of a new wave of Irish folk” and won awards for Best Track, Best Album, and Best Folk Group at the RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards.

Their long-awaited new studio album, All Tied Together, was largely recorded live in an old house in Galway, led by renowned producer Phil Weinrobe (Big Thief, Adrienne Lenker), and was released in January 2026 via Rough Trade / River Lea. With this record, they explore a slightly poppier and more open sound, while remaining firmly rooted in tradition.

Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Tamara van Esch will be the support act this evening. She creates eclectic indie folk in the vein of This Is the Kit and Mitski: intimate, dreamy, and gently quirky. In her fragile yet sometimes sharply observant lyrics, she discovers the extraordinary in the everyday. With her upcoming album ‘Gracie’, Tamara once again pushes her boundaries. Gracie, her 200-year-old alter ego, takes you to the year 2045; a future where humans and robots live in harmony, identities shift through digitalization, and immortality is no longer science fiction.
