SAINT PATRICK’S: Pogue MacGowan

Following the passing of the legendary Irish songwriter and singer Shane MacGowan on November 30, 2023, two passionate musicians from Ghent, Amaury Sonneville and Leander Vandereecken, have created an impressive tribute. What began as a one-off homage a year after Shane’s death at the Ghent Blues and Roots club Missy Sippy, has grown into an ongoing musical ode to the iconic artist and his band The Pogues.

Pogue MacGowan, named after the legendary frontman, brings the energy, passion, and joy of Shane & The Pogues back to the stage. With a repertoire full of classics such as If I Should Fall From Grace With God, Navigator and Streams of Whiskey, the band sings and plays these songs as if every day were Saint Patrick’s Day. A feast for the senses that invites you to sing along and dance.
