Virtuoso accordionist David Munnelly returns to Nouter Club in 2027, this time joined by bouzouki player, violinist, and singer Macdara Ó Faoláin. Rooted in Irish tradition but drawing on influences from jazz, classical, and folk from around the world, they bring a fresh and captivating sound. Macdara provides youthful energy and original compositions, while Munnelly’s playing is well-known from collaborations with The Chieftains and Samurai. Virtuoso Irish accordionist David Munnelly returns to Europe in 2027 and will, of course, be stopping by Nouter Club. This time, he is joined by the young bouzouki player, violinist, and singer Macdara Ó Faoláin. Together, they form a truly sensational duo. Both musicians have their roots deep in traditional Irish music, but each brings their own unique twist. Influences from jazz, classical, and folk from around the world flow effortlessly together into a unique and contemporary sound.
Macdara, awarded Young Musician of the Year by TG4 Gradam Ceoil (essentially the Oscars of traditional music), brings fresh energy and original compositions, often sung in Irish.
You might recognize the captivating ‘squeezebox’ playing of David Munnelly from his collaborations with The Chieftains, Samurai, and Shane MacGowan. David visited Dranouter several times with the latter.
