More from this artist

Jonas Meersmans creates instrumental, cinematic soundscapes where fragile fingerpicking, layered arrangements, and psychedelic guitar lines meet. His solo work has been warmly received both nationally and internationally.

On his fourth studio album (March 2027, Rotkat Records), the Antwerp-based guitarist and composer opts for a broader sound. While his previous album focused on the intimate interaction between acoustic guitar and strings, he now surrounds himself with a full band. The recognizable fingerpicking sound remains the foundation, but is enriched with an energetic rhythm section, horns, and electric guitar arrangements.

It is the successor to his third solo album Glassman (Werf Records, 2024), which was warmly received with airplay on Radio 1 and Klara, a five-star review in the British UK Vibe (“Undoubtedly one of my favourite albums of the year”), and concerts at Gent Jazz and De Roma.

Live, the music is performed with the following line-up:

  • Anke Verslype – drums
  • Gerben Brys – double bass
  • Thomas Jillings – saxophone/clarinet
  • Jonas Meersmans – guitar

In addition, Jonas Meersmans is the regular guitarist for Stef Kamil Carlens & The Swoon, Nicolas Mortelmans Quartet, and Ellen Schoenaerts.
