Little Bundles of Film (Bipolar Bows)
In Little Bundles of Film, silent films meet a vibrant folk sound. Bipolar Bows create a live soundtrack with violin and cello. An intimate encounter between image, tradition, and the moment.
More about this project
Belgian violinist Lotte Remmen and French cellist Toby Kuhn form the award-winning duo Bipolar Bows. Following their debut album Krunčhug (2021), they became artists-in-residence at ‘Nouter Club in 2023. It was there that their latest creation, ‘Little Bundles of Film’, took shape.
For this special project, they have joined forces with CINEMATEK (the Royal Belgian Film Archive). The result is a unique live experience where music and film merge into one.
During this performance, Bipolar Bows take you on a poetic journey through surreal silent films from the 1920s and 30s. Using violin and cello, they create a new, contemporary soundtrack that breathes new life into the images. Improvisation, imagination, and pure emotion take center stage—each performance is different, and every time it is just as intense.
Alongside the film project, they also released their second album, ‘Little Bundles of Joy’ (Homerecords, 2024), which further explores the same playful and adventurous musical world.
A sensory, immersive experience where vintage film and new folk meet.
This is a production developed with the support of ‘Nouter Club.
